Still living in Elektrostal, Makeev began publishing a video on the Internet in which he insulted people on the streets and watched their reaction. In Cancun, he continued to make such provocations, including in relation to women and children, and also placed reports on his antics on the Internet. According to the Consul of Russia in Mexico City Dmitry Bolbot, not only local residents, but also Russians in Mexico were attacked.

Local residents demanded that the authorities deport the Russian from the country. Under the corresponding petition, over 7.6 thousand people signed up on Change.org. Complaints of Makeev filed compatriots to the Russian diplomatic mission and suffered from him; According to Bolbot, diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico and the prosecutor’s office with a request to protect both Russians and local residents from Makeev’s aggression.

On Friday, a group of indignant residents of Cancun appeared to Makeev’s house. Initially, a crime occurred between the Russian and the visits. However, Makeev wounded one of the local residents - a 19 -year -old young man with a knife (according to other sources - harpoon). After that, the crowd broke into the house. Makeev tried to go to the roof, but was brutally beaten.

The wounded Mexican died soon.

Makeev himself, as a result of the beating, was paralyzed. Doctors introduced him to an artificial one. However, there is no threat to the Russian life of the Russian. The consulate agreed with the state police on the strengthened protection of the victim.
