Trump called on the Muslim world to eradicate terrorism

US President Donald Trump, speaking at the Arab-American Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia, called on the leaders of 55 Muslim states to eradicate terrorism. The broadcast of the performance was carried out on the Facebook of the White House.

According to Trump, all countries of the Middle East should make sure that terrorists are expelled from their territories and achieve the cessation of support for extremist organizations, including the Islamic State. He added that religious leaders should be inspired by people that if they choose the path of terrorism, their lives will be meaningless and short, and the souls are cursed.

Trump called on the Muslim world to unite with the USA in the fight against terrorism, and also noted the destructive role of Iran, which supports groups, "sowing destruction and chaos" in the region. As Trump pointed out, thanks to the support of Iran, the Syrian regime commits “inexpressible crimes”. The king of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, opening the summit, also declared the responsibility of Iran for the spread of terrorism around the world.

According to Associated Press, in his speech the US president refused to express “radical Islamic terrorism”, which he often used before the Americans and for the absence of which in the speeches often criticized the predecessor - Barack Obama. Instead, Trump spoke of Islamic extremism and Islamic Terror.

From a two -day visit to Saudi Arabia, Trump began his first foreign trip as the US president. It will last until May 27, Trump will visit Israel, Vatican, Italy and Belgium. Earlier on May 21, the United States and the Council of Cooperation of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf agreed on cooperation on countering the financing of terrorist organizations.
