The secret story from the creators

It all started with Lynch itself. He was the first to process the footage - even before the release of the series on the air. The so -called "European pilot" was created so that Warner Home Video sold in the European market if not a series, then at least a full -length. Therefore, the pilot ends with the disclosure of the murder (committed by the hands of Bob, not Liland). A noticeable part of the European final (including Michael Anderson’s dance in the role of man on the other hand) in the series was the dream of Cooper about the red room from the second series of the first season “Zen, or the art of catching the killer”.

Between the first and second seasons, a book was published, behind which heroes are chasing throughout the series - “The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer”. He composed his daughter, director Jennifer Lynch. She was asked to “become Lao Palmer” - the diary was created in the style of automatic writing. The dark side of the beauty queen of the town of Twin Pixes is disclosed from all sides: cocaine, prostitution, violence, obsession with death - and all this from a girl who dreams of ponies, frightening the first menstruation and sparing charitable dinners. According to Lynch, if you read the diary carefully, you can find the keys to all the riddles of the series, although its last pages are torn.

Then the image of the vicious Laura was used in the full -length prequel "Twin Pixes: Fire, go with me." The film is interesting in that the whole mystical dimension of the series is removed from it. Just a small town, bored high school students with a drink and drugs, the fathers of families indulging in vices - but no obsession with spirits, no other side.

After the second season, another diary appears - this time the second in the mystery of the hero, Dale Cooper. “Autobiography of a special agent of the FBI Dale Cooper”, covering the period from his adolescence to arrival in Twin Pixes, wrote the brother of Mark Frost. Cooper began to follow people and began to make notes in childhood: at 13, he was presented for Christmas the first recorder - a coil tape recorder. Acquaintance with the chief villain Windom Erl was a longtime - he also pursued Cooper's mother. It is also confirmed that Diana really existed and worked as secretary of Cooper.

The last official book on this universe is “The Secret History of Twin Pix” (for some reason with a hyphen in Russian). It is decorated as a secret dossier collected by an unknown archivist: the texture of paper and typewriter, notes with a pen in the fields are reproduced, and so on. The story told in the series is placed in a wider context of mysterious events that took place on Twin Picks, and many ragged plot lines are continued.

Return of fans to twin pix

Under such conditions, of course, fans begin to compose. The world "Twin Pixes" is generously flavored with details, has many recognizable signs - from damn good coffee to a swinging traffic light. And this is one of the prerequisites for the emergence of a strong community of fans.

In the Russian -speaking community, it all began when the series has not even been shown for the first time. The success was such that in 1993 both diaries translated - Laura Palmer and Dale Cooper. After that, unknown Litnegra (they say, students from Belarus) began to do the novelization of the series. Since they wrote a race with the outgoing series, at some point the narrative began to disperse with the original and more and more go to the soap opera. The book was published under the name "Twin Pixes: Investigation of the Murder" in three volumes. The already existing tradition of novelizations has led to the fact that a tree of family relations and connections between residents of Twin Pixes, including invented publications, has published a tree on the front foreman.

In the era of the early Internet, having reached the new information like a detailed FAQ by the series, fans began to fantasize even more actively. In 2003, the book “Return to Twin Pixes” by Alexander Shcherbakov was posted on the network. This is a rather cheerful continuation of the events of the series, where Cooper initially impress an evil character, so he is replaced by Stanley's agent from “Fire, go with me”, but in the end, Dale is in order.

Lynch to some extent himself provoked the popular Twin Picks crossover with “Secret Materials”. Still, after all, both have a mysticism, the FBI and David Derevnia (and it does not matter that he has a female role in Twin Picks). For a long time there were many small stories, where Denise Bryson (the heroine of the spiritual) and Scully or Mulder under the cover of Denise and Scully catch the next “monsters of the week”. The novellization of the X-Files “Bear Corner” was also released-with some raid “Twin Picks”.

Tired of waiting for the third season, fans from the Enter The Lodge website in 2014 staged their own third season - on Twitter. Events are neatly distributed by days, starting on March 25 (last day of the second season) and ending on April 19, only four weeks. In the logs collected on the website, you can read each “series” and all the characters' replicas. The main event of the season is the election of the new mayor, since the old mayor Milford is dying (they say that a young wife had finished it). Dale Cooper is included in the election struggle, who is married to Annie and no longer works as an agent; He is not taken to the police, because they are suspected of killing Windom Earl. Spoilers: At the end of Annie they will kill the same way as Laura, and the Cooper will still be bad (and sitting in prison for 25 years, as it turns out from the interview fragment attached to the last series).

About five years ago, domestic fans created an alternative screensaver of the series in the style of anime.
