From June 2 to 4, in the New Space of the Theater of Nations in Moscow, the editors of the journal “New Literary Review” and the European University in St. Petersburg will hold the second international conference as part of the joint program “Anthropologization of the Humanities and Social Sciences.” The organizers of the event informed Gorky about this.
This year's theme: " Dignity as a historical concept and a central category of our time." The conference will feature speeches by the director of the Center for Humanities Research at Harvard University, Professor Homi K. Baba , Professor of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Avishai Margalit and the Rector of the European University in St. Petersburg, Professor Oleg Kharkhordin .
“The concept of dignity has become an important object of analysis in Western thought and in relation to historical perspective. Essentially, it is the evolution of ideas about personal, corporate and state/national dignity under the influence of various sociocultural factors that has repeatedly led to civilizational paradigm shifts,” the organizers write.
Details about the program and participants of the congress are published on the website of the publishing house "NLO". Admission to the conference is free with prior registration on TimePad.
