Manchester: Two suspects in the attack were detained

Manchester police detained two suspects of involvement in the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena stadium. About the Twitter of the department reported .

The names of the suspects are not disclosed. From the police, it is only known that one of the detainees was 23 years old.

The identity of the suicide bomber has already been established. According to CBS News, this is 23-year-old Salman Abedi. As noted, earlier he already fell into the field of view of law enforcement officers.

According to the Daily Mail, Abdi was born in Britain, but his parents came to the country from Libya, fleeing the Gaddafi regime. It is noted that recently Abedi had a strange manner. In particular, one of his acquaintances told the publication that she saw how he loudly chanted Arab prayers, standing on the street, a few weeks before the attack.

According to The Guardian, Abedi lived in Falloufield, and the family lived before in Wally Ringe. According to some reports, a 23-year-old man detained in Wally Ringe is the brother of the suicide bomber Izmail Abedi.

According to the newspaper, the police received a record from the video surveillance camera, which shows how Abedi enters the stadium with a bomb in a bag. Law enforcement officers describe the explosive device as homemade and primitively made.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Teresa May, reports Daily Mail, described the actions of the suicide bomber as a manifestation of "terrifying nauseating cowardice."

In the afternoon, on Tuesday, the armed police detained a person in the Arndale shopping center. At the same time, due to rumors about the laid bomb in the building, panic rose, hundreds of people ran out. Other sources reported that people with raised hands left Arndale. Later, law enforcement officers said that the detention in the shopping center is not related to the attack.

The explosion on the Manchester Arena occurred on Monday evening during the concert of American singer Ariana Grande. There were about 21 thousand people at the stadium, among whom there were many children. Children are also among the victims of the attack. In total, 22 people were killed, at least 119 were injured.

The current attack - the most deadly terrorist attack in Britain after the action of four suicide bombers, committed in July 2005 in London transport - then 52 people were killed.
