Against the backdrop of searches in the Gogol Center and at home, the director and artistic director of the theater Kirill Serebrennikov, law enforcement officers on May 23 came to the former head of the Department of the state support and folk art of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Sofya Apfelbaum, which now holds the post of director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT).

“The search is carried out at the place of residence of Sofia Apfelbaum. The search is carried out in the same case in which they came to Serebrennikov,” said Alexander Fedyarov ( Interfax Quote).

Information about the search was confirmed by the husband of Apfelbaum Ilya Ariyevich. “I would prefer not to give comments yet, but the search was, yes. Now there is an interrogation, as a witness,” his words “Open Russia” quoted him.

According to the publication, the search began early in the morning, about seven hours. During the investigation, eight people were present, including FSB officers. The search continued until the middle of the day, after which, according to the source of journalists, the Apfelbaum was taken away for interrogation.

Since 2006, Sofya Apfelbaum has been working in the Ministry of Culture, since 2008 he headed the department of theatrical art. From 2012 to 2014, she led the Department of State Support for Art and Folk Art.

As noted in Open Russia, since the morning of Tuesday in the UK, people related to the autonomous non -profit organization "Seventh Studio", including its director Anna Shalashova, are interrogated. In the "Case of Gogol-Center", 17 interrogations are simultaneously carried out, Olga Romanova, the executive director of the Rus Sitting Movement, told the publication.

According to Romanova, the artistic director of the Gogol Center Serebrennikov has not yet been questioned. According to the general rules of interrogation, it should not be carried out at night, that is, after 22:00.

Already in the evening of May 23, it became known that the Apfelbaum was already released after the interrogation, she left the building of the Investigative Committee. At the same time, the director of Ramt refused the comments.
