Three animal rights activists detained for solo pickets near the Duma

Maryana Izotova, Nikita Smirnov and Lidia Osipova were detained for a series of one-man pickets near the Duma. The detention was justified by the insufficient distance between the picketers and the building. When the activists went to look for another place to picket, they were detained.

Now they are in the Tverskoy police department.

On the posters, the activists carried the slogans "Stop the killing of wild animals" and "No to bait stations." Smirnov was without a poster, but sat, tied with chains.

* Training stations are places where wild and/or domestic animals are kept for the purpose of setting dogs on them. It ends with mutilation and death of animals.
