Director Maxim Shavkin died

On May 23, the director, a graduate of the Moscow School of New Cinema Maxim Shavkin, the author of the best short film of the 36th Moscow International Film Festival, drowned in St. Petersburg.

Maxim Shavkin was born in 1987 in Moscow, studied at the Aviation Institute, in parallel with his studies and at the end of the university, he studied cinema, made short films, shot a lot of work in the education support fund.

In 2012, he received a diploma of the festival of young directors “Artkino” for the mid -meter film “Only themselves”, in the same year he entered the Moscow school of new cinema, to the workshop of Dmitry Mamuli.

The author of the films “Silence” and “14 steps”, which was shown in the program “Sinefondasion” of the Cannes festival and won the short competition of the 36th MMKF.

The fundraising for the organization of farewell to Maxim Shavkin has been announced.
