
On May 25, the opening of the XIX International Festival of Museums Intermuseum will be held in the Central Exhibition Hall of Manezh in Moscow. The theme of the festival is the Museum of the Future.
The program “Intermuseum 2017” has public lectures, conferences, multimedia evenings, concerts, exhibitions, performances, creative laboratories, children's master classes and quests.
In addition to the “arena” the festival’s sites will be the historical museum, museums of the Moscow Kremlin and the A.V. Shchuseva.
As part of the business program in the five conference halls of Manezh, as well as on the sites of the festival museums, conferences, panel discussions, round tables and lectures with the participation of more than 3,000 specialists will be held.
Experts and delegations from 25 countries of the world will take part in the festival, 14 foreign participants from 10 countries will present their expositions at the stands in the Manege. In total, 348 Russian and foreign museums were registered to participate in the festival.
This year, 265 museums were submitted to the Intermuseum contest for the competition, 414 projects were submitted, 151 museums were held in the second stage, 20 museums were the finalists of the main nominations of the competition. They have to defend their projects before the jury chaired by the director of the historical museum Alexei Levykin.
According to the results of the competition, awards will be awarded to the best research museum project, the best project in the field of museum education, the best project in the field of information technology, the best project aimed at social interaction, as well as prizes in special nominations.
The award ceremony will be held on the main stage of Manege on the last day of the festival, May 29.
