RBC announced the date of the “direct line” with Putin

The next “direct line” with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2017 will take place on June 15. This was reported to RBC by sources close to the presidential administration, as well as a source on Russian television.

The publication’s interlocutors called this date “the main one.”

Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to confirm or deny this information.

• In recent years, the “direct line” with Vladimir Putin took place in April, but at the end of March 2017, a few days after the protests on March 26, Dmitry Peskov announced the postponement of the event, explaining this by the president’s work schedule.
• Later, Kommersant reported that the “direct line” could be timed to coincide with one of the June holidays - for example, Russia Day on June 12 or Children’s Day on June 1.
• Opposition leader Alexei Navalny announced an action against corruption in Russian cities on June 12. In May, Vladimir Putin tightened the holding of public events from June 1 to July 12 in connection with the holding of the Confederations Cup football in Russia.
• “Direct Line” is an annual television program with the participation of President Vladimir Putin, during which he answers questions from residents of the Russian Federation. Some questions are sent by citizens to the editorial office, some are asked by people in the studio and participants in teleconferences from different regions.
