Levada Center: 41 percent of Russians opposed anonymity in social networks

41 percent of Russians believe that it is necessary to oblige users of social networks to be identified. At the same time, the number of opponents of anonymity almost doubled: in 2012 there were 24 percent. Such data are contained in a new survey of the Levada Center, Interfax reports .

Opponents of personification on social networks consider themselves 26 percent of respondents. In 2012, 30 percent of the study participants spoke for anonymity. At the same time, the share of responding to reply for five years decreased from 46 to 33 percent.

78 percent of the survey participants are known that when they use the phone and the Internet, you can access their personal information. 70 percent of Russians this situation is worried.

To protect their data, 19 percent of respondents use special passwords, 18 percent - special programs, 15 percent - do not transmit and do not publish confidential information on the Internet, 13 percent do not conduct telephone conversations on confidential topics. 6 percent of respondents generally prefer to limit the use of mobile communications and the Internet.

At the same time, 11 percent of the survey participants are only going to protect their data, and 41 percent of the respondents do nothing in this direction and are not going to do anything.

The survey was conducted on April 7-10 among 1600 respondents over 18 years old in 137 settlements of 48 regions.

On Wednesday, a bill on the regulation of messengers was submitted to the State Duma. The initiative involves the mandatory identification of users of instant messages and the ban to send “prohibited information” through such services. The next day, the bill was supported by the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, saying that there is no “no advance to freedom of speech” in the initiative.

On April 10, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov submitted to the lower house of the parliament the bill "On the Legal Regulation of Social Networks", according to which it will be possible to register on social networks only on a passport, and children under 14 years old will be prohibited from using them.
