Deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved the idea of ​​popular voting for their exclusion opposed to the transfer of the ROC.

The election room of St. Petersburg accepted the documents with the initiative group, which proposed to hold a referendum on the recall of the mandates of six deputies of the Legislative Assembly. Now the commission will transfer documents to the Legislative Assembly of the city.

The authors of the initiative propose to withdraw the mandates of the deputies of Yabloko Boris Vishnevsky and Mikhail Amosov, the deputies of Fair Russia Alexei Kovalev and Sergey Trochmanenko, as well as the deputies of the Growth Party Dmitrieva and Maxim Reznik.

As the deputy chairman of the commission, Nadezhda Lebedev, said, 20 people were included in the initiative group. The reasons for their solutions are not indicated. The commission considered that the documents submitted are executed in accordance with the law.

As Boris Vishnevsky told Novaya Gazeta, the names of the initiators who sounded at a meeting of the commission are unknown to anyone.

- We are well aware that our struggle for the Isaac's Cathedral will inevitably cause attempts to run into us. But in this case, this attempt is a consistent clumsy. The federal law prohibits initiating such referendums, questions cannot be issued to it about the extension or termination of powers of the elected authorities. Apparently, the initiators do not know this or just hope for something.

Nevertheless, we with both hands in order to conduct such a referendum.

We are for any referendums, and a referendum of this kind is also as a referendum on the St. Isaac's Cathedral, only on the contrary.

Because this is a question of trust to those who are in defense of the St. Isaac's Cathedral. We are sure that the townspeople will support us. And if our Legislative Assembly stubbornly does not allow a referendum on Isaac, let's at least hold such a referendum. Its result will be very indicative - and not at all the same as, apparently, the initiators of this referendum calculate.

As for the referendum on our “Review”: the city election commission does not verify the question of it for compliance with the law, it checks whether the protocol was drawn up correctly, whether there were twenty participants in the initiative group and whether all the data on them was correctly indicated in the petition. And if there are no errors, then it is obliged to transfer the documents to the Legislative Assembly, so the decision of the election commission is not a decision to appoint a referendum or its approval.

Let's see what our city parliament will do. But we are confident that such an initiative is a sign of a very serious fear of those that are fighting for the preservation of the Isaac's Cathedral, who do not want to transfer it to the Church, as well as Spas-on-blood and the Peter and Paul Cathedral. Most of the deputies of Zaks, that's why it blocks our referendum on the preservation of Isaac, Savior-on-blood and Peter and Paul Cathedral as part of state museums. For almost two months this all stretches, and most of the deputies - from United Russia - are even afraid to consider the issue. We are wondering how they will consider the issue of a new referendum?

By the way, it is very interesting that the petition for this referendum was received two days ago. The election commander, having received such applications, sends materials to the Federal Migration Service to check all the personal data of the members of the initiative group. Judging by what they brought the day yesterday, and today they have already examined everything, some doubts arise. More precisely, the confidence that the initiative comes from the authorities itself. But I repeat, we are not afraid, because it is time for the townspeople to speak out at least on some question. And as a result of such a referendum, we have no doubt that most citizens advocate to preserve the museum, not to transfer the ROCC Cathedral to the Isaac's Cathedral. And they will support those who, along with them, are fighting to preserve this museum.

Curious, who initiated a new referendum? At a meeting of the election commission, surnames were sounded, who did not say anything to anyone. We will try to get their list, although we will be told about the protection of personal data. But here is the case when there should be no secrets: the initiators of any referendum should be known to the public. We published the composition of our group, these are famous people with a reputation. Deputies, scientists, cultural figures, city defenders, journalists. But from us, most likely, they will hide the names of the initiators of the new referendum in order to disguise their connection with Smolny, “United Russia”, a diocese.
