A new defendant has appeared in the “March 26 Case”

On May 24, it became known about another person involved in a criminal case regarding the use of violence against police officers at the Antidimon anti-corruption event in Moscow on March 26. Lawyer of the International Human Rights Group "Agora" Ilnur Sharapov said that he had intervened in the case of Dmitry Krepkin , who is accused of hitting a policeman in the leg.

Krepkin was detained on May 14. On May 17, Judge Natalya Dudar of the Basmanny District Court chose a preventive measure against him in the form of arrest until mid-July. Now Krepkin is in the temporary detention center of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate at Petrovka, 38.

According to Sharapov, the accused does not admit guilt and says that on May 26, during the dispersal of the Antidimon rally in Moscow, he was very surprised by the unmotivated aggression of the police against peaceful demonstrators. For Krepkin, this was the first such event in which he took part.

Krepkin saw how the police grabbed and dragged a young man somewhere . Their actions seemed unreasonable - the young man did not commit anything illegal. Krepkin grabbed one of the police officers by a piece of his armor—a shield—and tried to explain that, in his opinion, the police were breaking the law. But in response, one of the officers only swung his baton; Krepkin let go of the shield, but continued to follow the riot police who were dragging the young man into the paddy wagon. Out of indignation and powerlessness, he kicked the rubber stick that one of the policemen was holding in his hands.

According to investigators, Krepkin’s blow fell not on the baton, but on the leg of the police officer - thereby the accused committed actions falling under Part 1 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code (violence against a police officer not dangerous to life and health). The victim claims “severe physical pain” that he felt from the touch of Krepkin’s leg. At the same time, the policeman did not seek medical help and did not write a report about detecting signs of a crime.

Evidence of Krepkin’s guilt is a video recording made by another police officer who was nearby, as well as his testimony. Krepkin told Sharapov that the video was shot closely, so the moment of impact itself is not visible. The movement of Krepkin’s leg is visible, which he does not deny in principle, but where the leg hit is not clear. The policeman himself, who filmed what was happening on camera, states that he saw Krepkin hit his colleague in the leg.

Krepkin is the fifth person involved in the Moscow case regarding the events of March 26.

On May 18, actor Yuri Kuliya , who was accused of “grabbing the hand and causing severe pain” to a policeman, was sentenced to 8 months in a penal colony . The charges were based on an episode when Kuliy separated a riot policeman and an elderly man. Kuliy agreed to have his case considered in court in a special manner, that is, without examining the evidence.

On May 24 , Alexander Shpakov was sentenced to one and a half years in prison in a general regime colony. He allegedly struck two policemen in the head, who had previously been a victim in the Bolotnaya case. At the same time, Shpakov himself was severely beaten during his arrest on March 26. He also went for a special procedure for consideration, counting in this case on a suspended sentence - he has a daughter and mother at large, whom he provided for. In general , Shpakov went to the rally on March 26 to protect his daughter, who decided to take part in it. In court, Shpakov’s mother stated that the appointed lawyer who initially defended him extorted 100 thousand rubles from the family, inviting them to take out a loan and transfer the money to him in order to “settle the situation.”

Another person involved in the case, Stanislav Zimovets , on May 23 refused the special procedure for considering the case. He is accused of throwing a brick at a police officer. According to Zimovets, throughout the first week after his arrest he was often taken to the investigator, was not given proper food, was not allowed to contact anyone, and the appointed lawyer persuaded him to enter into an agreement with the investigation - that is why he agreed to it.

Sharapov says that his client has no complaints either against the appointed lawyer who defended him earlier, or against the investigator - during the time he was under investigation, no one put pressure on him, did not convince him to make a deal or give any kind of information. then the testimony.

Andrei Kosykh is also involved in the case; unlike the others, he has not the 1st , but the 2nd part of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code - the use of violence against a representative of the authorities that is dangerous to life and health. According to investigators, he struck two police officers in the head, and one of the victims lost consciousness. Kosykh recently got a lawyer by agreement. The investigation into his case has not yet been completed; he is in the Vodnik pre-trial detention center.

In Volgograd, following the events that took place in the city on March 26, a criminal case was opened against student Maxim Beldinov , who, trying to prevent the police from detaining the student, kicked one of the employees, which caused him to bruise and experience “moral suffering.” Beldinov wrote a confession. On May 24, the Central District Court of Volgograd found Beldinov guilty and sentenced him to one and a half years of suspended imprisonment.
