-“Deserter” is the song of Boris Vian, the author of “Foam of the Days”, written in 1954, when France aggressively defended its colonies in Algeria and Indochina. We know that in Russia they adopt laws that facilitate the sending of soldiers to military operations, we know about the illegal mobilization of Ukrainian villagers to participate in the “ATO”, and about how the inhabitants of Donbass have been living hostage with politicians, military adventurers and political strategists for three years.
People are tired of military propaganda, but the Eastern European “deserter” majority has no voice. It is not, because the political, and the cultural establishment was divided into two factions of the war, believe that for the “Russian world” or for “European values” you can fight to the last Russian or Ukrainian, and marginalizing anyone who tries to defend the world for everyone. That is why in Russia it is so bad with anti -war movement.
The song “Deserter” entered our new album “Favorite and Bitter Earth”, which we recorded as part of a joint project with the ensemble of the Pamir musicians and will present on June 4 at the Pamir-Moscow festival at the Moscow Museum.
