Political scientist Zbignnev Brzezinsky died

The American political scientist and former national security adviser to US President Jimmy Carter Zbignnev Brzezinsky died. This was reported by his daughter Mika.

Brzezinsky was 89 years old. According to his daughter, he died on May 26 in a hospital in Falls Cherch, Virginia.

As reminds The New York Times, Brzezinsky was known for his critical attitude to communism and the Soviet Union. He actively advocated the expansion of NATO and the restriction of the influence of Moscow.

He wrote more than 30 books. Among them - “Great Chess Board: the leadership of America and its geostrategic imperatives” (1997). In it, he urged the United States to become a dominant force in Eurasia and restrain the influence of Russia in that region, because, in his opinion, the country that controls Eurasia can reach power over the whole world. In 2012, he advised Ukraine to consider himself the "older brother" of Russia.
