1812 Peace of Bucharest

205 years ago, on May 28, 1812, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Danube army, Mikhail Kutuzov, concluded the Bucharest Peace with Turkey, ending the war that had been dragging on since 1806. Russia received Bessarabia and the mouth of the Danube, and the Danubian army was freed for a future war against Napoleon.
