In Kaliningrad, an activist’s claim for compensation for damages for police actions was not satisfied

The Central District Court of Kaliningrad did not satisfy the claim of Olga Malysheva, who was accused of violating the procedure for holding an event (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for participating in a picket on October 16 with a poster with a crossed-out image of Vladimir Putin. The activist demanded compensation for moral damages for the illegal actions of the police and a representative of the Kaliningrad administration.

As Malysheva told OVD-Info, Judge Vladimir Elzesser found no grounds to meet the requirements.

“In court, my interests were represented by a member of the Public Self-Defense Committee Maryasina Anna. We intend to appeal further to the authorities and seek a fair decision,” the activist said.

On November 28, the court dismissed the case against Malysheva for lack of corpus delicti. After that, she received two calls from the E Center, inviting her to come for a talk.
