The organizers of the Yasnaya Polyana literary award announced the long list of the “Modern Russian Prose” nomination. The organizers of the award informed Gorky about this.

The expert council selected 30 works out of 120 nominated for competition. Among the authors included in the list: Pavel Krusanov (“ Iron Steam ”), Vladimir Medvedev (“ Zahkhok ”), German Sadulayev (“ Ivan Auslender ”), Ganna Shevchenko (“Miner’s Deep”), Sasha Filipenko (“Red Cross”) , Anna Tugareva (“Inshallah. Chechen Diary”), Olga Pokrovskaya (“Half a Kingdom”), Polina Zherebtsova (“Donkey Breed”), Ksenia Dragunskaya (“Kolokolnikov - Podkolokolny”), Alexey Slapovsky (“ Unknown ”), Andrey Rubanov ( " Patriot "), Mikhail Gigolashvili (" The Secret Year "). Today it became known that the last three were also included in the short list of the “Big Book”.

“The main category of the award is considered to be “Modern Russian Prose”. It celebrates a significant work by a Russian author, which carries the ideals of philanthropy and which is important to read right now, because it defines the range of literary trends of the present time,” says the award’s website. The shortlisted works will be announced in September, and in October the jury will name the winners in all categories.

In March, the award's expert council selected 28 finalists in the Foreign Literature category. In 2016, the award in the nomination was given to the writer Orhan Pamuk and the translator Apollinaria Avrutina for the book “My Strange Thoughts.” Earlier it became known that the amount of the main prize of Yasnaya Polyana increased by a million rubles.
