
President Vladimir Putin signed the law on administrative supervision of convicts on "terrorist" and "extremist" articles of the Criminal Code. The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Amendments to Article 173.1 of the Criminal Executive Code intend to establish administrative supervision of the convicts for serious and especially serious crimes of an extremist orientation and "terrorist" crimes. It is proposed to establish supervision of convicts under the following articles: 205 (terrorist attack), 205.1 (assistance to terrorism), 205.2 (public calls for terrorism or public justification of terrorism), 205.3 (passing training for terrorism), 205.4 (organization of the terrorist community and participation in it), 205.5 (organization or participation in the activities of the terrorist Organizations), 206 (capture of the hostage), 208 (organization of illegal armed formation or participation in it), 211 (hijacking, aircraft or train), 220 (illegal handling of nuclear materials or radioactive substances), 221 (theft or extinction of nuclear materials or radioactive substances), 277 (encroachment on the life of a state or public figure), 278 (violent seizure or retention of power), 279 (armed rebellion), 282 (incitement of hatred or enmity), 282.1 (organization of an extremist community), 282.2 (organization of extremist organization), 282.3 (financing of extremism), 295 (an encroachment on the life of a judge or investigator), 317 (encroachment on life for life for life for life for life for life. law enforcement officer 360 (attack on persons or institutions that enjoy international protection). Meanwhile, not in all cases of crimes under the listed articles are considered serious. So, part 1 of Article 282, according to which they most often pursue for publications on the Internet, provides for up to five years in prison - this is a crime of moderate severity. It is not clear from the text of the new law whether administrative supervision should be extended to such convicts.
