The 76-year-old teacher of the Bauman MSTU and an employee of the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Vladimir Lapigin, convicted of state treason, requested a pardon of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is reported by Open Russia.

In turn, the lawyer of Lapigina Vasily Pritsyk told Interfax that his client filed a petition for pardon in March, but there is no “no answer”. He is serving a sentence in a colony in the Tula region.

Lapigina was sentenced to seven years in the colony in September 2016. He was accused of “around 2009,” he handed over to China “a software complex that allows you to calculate the optimal aerodynamic characteristics of hypersonic aircraft containing information constituting a state secret”.

The teacher himself noted that he sent his acquaintance from the PRC the introductory version of the program.
