In Kazan, three activists and a lawyer from Navalny’s headquarters were arrested for 10 to 12 days.

The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan placed three activists from the election headquarters of politician Alexei Navalny and his lawyer under administrative arrest, reports . Kommersant

Activists Iskander Gumerbaev, Azat Shaimukhametov and Andrey Boyarshinov were found guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the established procedure by a participant in a public event) and Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a lawful order or requirement of a police officer). Under the first article, each of the activists was sentenced to 35 hours of compulsory labor, under the second - 12 days of arrest.

Earlier today, the Vakhitovsky court arrested the lawyer of Navalny’s headquarters in Kazan, Azat Gabdulvaleev, for 10 days, finding him guilty under Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (organizing or holding a public event without filing a notification).

According to the protocol, on May 14, the lawyer organized a picket on Tukay Square and “placed printed materials” campaigning for Navalny. According to the police, the action was not coordinated with the authorities. Gabdulvaleev himself claims that he submitted a notice of holding a picket within the period established by law, but the executive committee of Kazan did not fulfill its obligations and demanded that the notice be brought into compliance with the new edition of the Tatarstan law on rallies, which obliges the precise wording of the public event to be indicated. Arrested Navalny supporters set up a propaganda cube on the square, after which the police intervened in the picket.
