The mother of a boy detained for Shakespeare accused his stepmother of involving her son in begging

The birth mother of a boy detained in the center of Moscow for reading “Hamlet” wrote a statement to the police against his stepmother Kristina Skavronski, accusing her of involving the child in begging, Yuri Titov, deputy director of information and public relations of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate, told radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”. .

According to Titov, the application was received on May 29, and is currently being checked. In the statement, the woman asked to initiate a criminal case against her stepmother under Article 151 of the Criminal Code (involving a minor in committing antisocial acts). The statement also says that the child gave all the banknotes he earned to his stepmother, and he only had coins “for ice cream.” The boy’s own mother complained to his father and he allegedly promised her that “this won’t happen again.”

He also added that the police officers “were obligated” to pick up the boy from the street, and handing him over to his stepmother, who “appeared to be an acquaintance or neighbor,” would be a violation of the law.

As Daria Terekhina, who participated in the arrest, said, the boy did not tell how to contact his parents. When she tried to explain to the child that he would be taken to the department, he tried to run away with the bag. Terekhina added that the child said that he was alone on the street and his parents did not know that he was there.

As the father of the detained child, Ilya Skavronsky, said , the boy’s behavior had not previously caused any complaints from the police. In his opinion, the incident occurred due to “a specific patrol that behaved immorally, inhumanely, beyond all limits.”

On the evening of May 26, police detained a 10-year-old boy in the center of Moscow on Arbat, who was reciting Shakespeare's Hamlet. The boy's stepmother asked to release the child, but was refused and tried to prevent the police from taking him to the police station. The police insisted that the student was engaged in “begging.”

Later, the police apologized to the boy for the incident, and a report was drawn up against his father for failure to fulfill duties in raising minors (Article 5.35 of the Administrative Code). A protocol on disobedience to a police officer was also drawn up against the stepmother, Kristina Skavronski (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). The family's lawyer said that she had not yet received it.

The next day, May 27, the Investigative Committee said that Kristina Skavronski was being checked under Article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a government official).
