Reuters: Navalny was denied premises in Tula after a call from the administration

The owner of the premises in Tula, from whom the opposition politician Alexei Navalny was going to rent a place to meet with associates, canceled the reservation after a call from the administration. It is reported by Reuters.

“They advised me not to rent out the meeting space for Navalny,” the source, who asked to remain anonymous, was quoted by the agency as saying.

According to the owner of the premises, he listened to the advice, because he "did not want trouble."

In turn, the Tula administration denied the accusations. "The administration did not call any of the owners of the premises who were renting out to hold a meeting with Alexei Navalny," Reuters was told.

However, a representative of the opposition politician in Tula, Dmitry Nikolaev, told a foreign agency that it was "difficult" to find the premises precisely because of the "advice" of the administration.

Recall that in several cities, the owners of the premises also terminated the lease. We are talking about Volgograd, Vologda, Vladivostok and Krasnodar.

Note that in Vladivostok, local authorities also tried to prevent the opening of the headquarters of the opposition politician.

“On the way from the airport to the headquarters, we were stopped five times by the traffic police. The main road from the airport to the city was blocked, and we had to take a roundabout way. When we got to the building, it turned out that the locks in the room we rented did not open, they were changed,” said FBK employee Ruslan Shaveddinov.

He also said that the lease of premises in Vladivostok was denied nine times, and the local FSB on the eve of the opening in Vladivostok tried to misinform the politician's supporters. They sent them a text message with the incorrect location of the meeting.
