In Ukraine, Gazprom’s fine of Gaztransita shares was arrested.

The State Executive Service of Ukraine arrested the Gaztransita action belonging to Gazprom. Such information is contained in the report of the Russian oil and gas company, Interfax reports .

Gazprom received information about the arrest of its share in Gaztransit on May 12, the report said. In relation to the company in Ukraine, enforcement proceedings worth about 189 billion hryvnias are opened, out of 172 billion, a fine is a fine, another 17 billion is an executive fee.

The company "Gaztransit" was created in November 1997 with the aim of expanding the throughput of the gas transmission system of Ukraine. Gaztransit is engaged in the project to increase the power of the main gas pipeline Ananiev-Tiraspol-Izmail, which passes through the territory of the Odessa region and Moldova. About 40 percent of the company’s shares belongs to Gazprom and the Ukrainian “Naftogaz”, the Turkish company Turusgas owns about 20 percent of another 20 percent.

On May 16, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) announced the start of the arrest of Gazprom property in the country in order to collect a fine and a penalty of 172 billion hryvnias.

In October, the antitrust department filed a lawsuit in Kyiv on the forced recovery of a fine and penalty. On December 5, the court satisfied the requirements of the AMCU and decided to recover 172 billion hryvnias from Gazprom.

In February 2017, the Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the decision to recover funds from the company. In March, Gazprom appealed this decision on a cassation order.

On January 22, 2016, the AMCU fined Gazprom by 85.9 billion hryvnias for abuse of the monopoly position in the gas transit market.

On April 12, Gazprom "tried to challenge the cash in the economic court of Kiev, but the company refused to accept the complaint of the company.
