The court rejected a claim for non-approval of a rally against the development of a park on Zhivopisnaya

Judge Lidia Lanina of the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow

refused to satisfy the claim of the defenders of the park on Zhivopisnaya Street against the prefecture of the North-West Administrative District in connection with the refusal to coordinate the rally. Yaroslav Nikitenko, a member of the movement in defense of the park, who filed a notice of the rally on May 18, told OVD-Info about this.

According to him, the main arguments of the SZAO prefecture were that the plaintiff was not the organizer of the rally and his right to answer

prefectures are not violated, and also that the prefecture did not refuse to approve the rally.

The representatives of the prefecture argued the refusal to approve the rally on May 18 as a possible violation of the rights of citizens not participating in the rally. They did not offer an alternative site.
