For some reason, it is believed that the state should be engaged in the training of doctors, although the state cannot cope with this task for decades.

- What does an intelligent doctor mean? - I ask Dr. Ilya Fomintsev, who heads the project "Higher School of Oncology."

“Intelligent,” says Fomintsev, “this is a doctor who seeks knowledge and thinks.”

- Is it a rarity that the doctor thinks?

- Rare. Do you want a quick -witted task? When is it necessary for women to make screening for cervical cancer?

- I don't know.

- So the Ministry of Health does not know. Either the screening is arranged for all girls, then they cancel. Either at sixteen is examined, then at thirty. Either those who gave birth, then not giving birth. But if you have knowledge and know how to think ...

- What knowledge do I need to correctly examine all women for cervical cancer?

- Three facts. Cervical cancer is always caused by the human papillomavirus. The papilloma virus is transmitted sexually. Cervical cancer begins no earlier than ten years after papilloma infection. Now think and tell me what women should be examined for cervical cancer?

“Fifteen according to statistics,” Fomintsev said.

Cardiologist Osipov studied in America, returned to Russia and converted the now-famous Tarusian hospital.

The physical therapist Klochkova, who studied in Europe, taught more than forty physical therapists and ergotherapists, and now children with the spinal cord hernia receive regular assistance, and before they did not receive at all, especially in orphanages.

Whenever the doctors study, a breakthrough occurs in domestic health care. Charity programs, the construction of new clinics, new medical technologies-so that all this is formed, a group of doctors who studied something reasonable and modern and not able to work more, as in the Stone Age.

The program "Higher School of Oncology" is carried out by Dr. Fomintsev together with graduate student at the Petrov Research Institute. After ordinary graduate schools, after working in the clinic, eighteen young doctors read scientific journals, hold conferences, adopt the principles of communication with patients from American colleagues, think, understand the topic of the topic.

And they have no time at all with linden duty, as is customary for our young doctors, nor earn extra money on an ambulance. They have no time except study.

Dr. Fomintsev forces them to study exactly as a young doctor should study - twenty hours a day, not seeing white light, living in a tiny clearance.

They need to be supported. They need to be supported not out of pity. Not out of sympathy for poor students, but for purely pragmatic considerations.
