Berezkin will not merge RBC with Komsomolskaya Pravda after the purchase

The owner of the ESN group, Grigory Berezkin, said that he does not intend to merge RBC with his other media assets, including the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper and Metro , reports . Interfax

“I don’t plan this. Someone misunderstood me,” Berezkin said.

As reported by Rambler News Service, Berezkin plans to create a unified media holding if the RBC deal is successfully completed. UST also owns a controlling stake in Komsomolskaya Pravda and it owns the newspaper Metro .

Berezkin also added that he does not plan to make changes at RBC.

“We don’t plan to change anyone at RBC yet; the company, in my opinion, is doing well. A minimum of changes is the best that can happen,” he said, adding that he hopes the deal will be completed soon.

Earlier, the Federal Antimonopoly Service approved the purchase of the RBC holding by the Unified Social Tax structure of Grigory Berezkin. Berezkin refused to predict the timing of the deal’s closure , but Vedomosti’s source claimed that “mostly technical details remained.”

In April, vc.ru sources reported that Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Alexei Gromov insisted on changing the owner of the RBC holding, which now belongs to Mikhail Prokhorov’s structures.
