The Basmanny court extended until September 8 the arrest period for the former deputy head of the anti-corruption department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dmitry Zakharchenko, reports the Moscow agency.
According to the investigator, it is necessary to order and conduct several examinations, as well as to identify everyone with whom Zakharchenko communicated.
“The investigation into the case has been extended until September 8, and therefore we ask that the arrest be extended until September 8,” he said.
Judge Elena Lenskaya granted the investigator's request. Zakharchenko did not agree with the arguments and petition and asked to dismiss the case. Zakharchenko’s defense asked to change his preventive measure to house arrest.
Earlier, the Basmanny Court arrested another person involved in the Zakharchenko case - the driver of the family of FSB officer Dmitry Senin, Viktor Kluzhenkov. He is accused of facilitating the transfer of a bribe.
On May 26, was put the former head of the National Guard department for the Moscow region, Police Major General Alexei Laushkin, on the wanted list in the Zakharchenko case. According to investigators, with the help of intermediaries - Laushkin and FSB Colonel Dmitry Senin, Zakharchenko received 800 thousand dollars from the owner of the La Marée restaurant .
The former head of the “T” department of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dmitry Zakharchenko, was detained in September 2016. He is accused of exceeding official powers and a bribe in the amount of 7 million rubles (Articles 286 and 290 of the Criminal Code). During the searches, about 9 billion rubles were found on him. Zakharchenko’s father was also arrested in an embezzlement case (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code).
