The court in Novorossiysk arrested for five days activist Nikolai Yezhov, who was trying to apply for an anti -corruption action on June 12 and beaten in the building of the city administration. Yezhov was accused under Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism). In addition, under the same article, a 31-year-old man was arrested, also detained in the administration building for aggressive behavior. According to the police, the city administration complained that he "hits his feet on the table, throwing documents." At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that "no one beat anyone."

The day before, Yezhov’s beating was reported in the Novorossiysk Online community on the VKontakte social network. The activists have come to the building of the Novorossiysk administration to apply for a rally. They were joined by two unknown men who said they had come to support the organizers of the action. At first, no one was allowed into the building, but then these two agreed with the administration’s employees that they will go inside with Yezhov - supposedly in order to submit an application.

After about 10 minutes, the police brought Yezhov from the building, who looked very bad. According to him, he was beaten by those two men who came with him. On the way to the police car, Yezhov, who has health problems, lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital in a police car, and then to the police department.

At the same time, according to activists, provocateurs in civilian clothes and Cossacks shouted insults at them and threatened the passers -by trying to help Yezhov lying on the ground.

The organizers of the action in Novorossiysk were going to submit an application on May 29, but one of them, Angelina Raevskaya, stopped contacting. On June 1 and 2, attempts to submit an application also fell off. Activists were not allowed to go to the city administration. They were threatened by the deputy head of Novorossiysk, Alexander Yamenskov, who interacts with law enforcement agencies.

On April 12, the leader of the Party of Progress Alexei Navalny called for a new mass anti -corruption action on June 12. On May 31, the Moscow authorities invited the organizers to transfer the action from Tverskaya Street to Sakharov Avenue or to the southeast of the city. The organizers said they would insist on the initial version of the route.
