Khusnullin: the renovation program will help create additional parking spaces

Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy Marat Khusnullin believes that the demolition of old five-story buildings will create more parking space in the capital.

In Moscow, thanks to the renovation program, the number of parking spaces will double, TASS reports . The renovation program provides for the demolition of old five-story buildings. According to Marat Khusnullin, this will help free up the territory and build buildings with additional underground parking.

The deputy mayor believes that thanks to the renovation program, the authorities will be able to defuse the tense parking situation. Now there is a catastrophic shortage of them in Moscow.

“We will achieve this by demolishing houses and freeing up more territory. Secondly, the street and road network near houses will work as a street and road network during the day, and as a parking place at night, and it turns out that the parking areas we have today will be twice as large,” Khusnullin clarified.

In addition, wherever possible, the authorities plan to build multi-level parking lots.
