In 2014, in Dedovsk, Elena Spakhova, a 40-year-old resident of the Krasnogorsk district of the Moscow region, who had recently lost her own child, stole a month-old baby from the maternity ward. The child was abandoned by his biological mother. The alleged thief was identified based on operational information received by law enforcement agencies. “I don’t understand why no one worried for three years, because this is a medical organization, and now it turns out that the hostage of the situation is a father who did not know about the kidnapping, and a child who grew up in a good family, in good conditions,” the senator said . A similar opinion was shared by the Chairman of the Human Rights Council under the Governor of the Moscow Region, Anatoly Kucherena, who stated that the best option for the child would be to return to the family of the woman who kidnapped him, to whom he was accustomed and where he was raised in normal conditions.
