75 years ago, on June 4, 1942, the battle began at the Atoll Midway (in the western part of the Hawaiian archipelago) between the main forces of Japanese and American fleets. It ended on June 7 with the full victory of the Americans. The Japanese lost all four of their shock aircraft carriers and one heavy cruiser. The Americans lost one aircraft carrier and one destroyer. After the victory at Miduei, the American fleet won dominance in the Pacific Ocean.
