Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with the NBC American television channel, recalled a meeting with the future adviser to the US President on National Security Michael Flynn in 2015 in Moscow. The president said he did not communicate with him and did not know about his connection with the American power structures.
During the interview, Putin said that he was only sitting at the same table with Flynn. According to the president, only after the President of the Russian Federation left, they told him that Flynn was related to important matters and US power services.
“I didn’t even really talk to him ... This is the level of my acquaintance with Mr. Flynn,” Interfax quotes Putin.
In 2015, Flynn visited Moscow, where he attended the event in honor of the anniversary of the RT channel.
Flynn was dismissed in February after it turned out that he lied to the US Vice President Mike Pens about his meetings with the Russian ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak.
At the moment, the ex-adviser is considered one of the main defendants in the investigation of the alleged intervention of the Russian Federation in the 2016 US presidential election. As “Freedom” notes, there are assumptions that he could discuss with Russian representatives the fate of sanctions imposed against Russian companies and individuals.
