British Prime Minister calls the incident in London a "potential act of terrorism"

British Prime Minister Theresa May called the incident in central London a "potential act of terrorism", reports the BBC.

May called the incident a "terrifying incident." On Sunday morning, the prime minister convenes an emergency meeting of the COBRA emergency committee.

The London police also confirm that the incidents at London Bridge and Borough Market are being treated as a terrorist attack.

Recall that on Saturday evening on the London Bridge, a white van drove into a crowd of pedestrians. As a result, at least one person died, the number of victims is unknown.

Later, the police began to receive reports of an incident at Borough Market, which is located near the scene of the accident. Eyewitnesses report seeing three men with knives attacking pedestrians. Now the police are looking for them. The media does not rule out that the attackers could have run out of the same van. There was also information about the incident in the Vauxhall area, but so far it has not been confirmed.
