State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov sent an official letter to the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika with a request to check the actions of the Hermitage Theater and the Youth Educational Center in St. Petersburg, which, according to him, supposedly showed the video spectacle of the Belgian artist, sculptor, director and screenwriter Yana Fabra. The parliamentarian himself told RIA Novosti about this.
Earlier information appeared that the performance "Mount Olympus" Fabra was shown at the Hermitage Theater as part of the student educational program. However, in the cultural institution itself these messages refuted.
Meanwhile, Milonov insists that the performance was shown and he has nothing to do with art, promotes sexual licentiousness and has a negative impact on a wide viewer. “There is no place for such a shame in our city and our theaters. Only finished perverts or unhealthy people can enjoy this art. We must clearly declare our position on this issue,” the deputy said.
As the parliamentarian explained, appeal to the prosecutor was drawn up after numerous appeals of indignant citizens and representatives of the sphere of art.
At the same time, the press service of the RIA Novosti Hermitage reported that the performance of Jan Fabra was not demonstrated. As explained in the museum, the exhibition of Yana Fabra, as well as all the projects related to it are completed. But in the framework of those events that passed and were dedicated to the exhibition of Jan Fabra in the Hermitage, there was no this performance, they assured the press service.
Recall that in October 2016, the exhibition "Jan Fabr. Knight of despair - a beauty warrior" opened in the Hermitage. The exposition was presented with animal stuffed animals. As a result, the Hermitage received many reproaches of cruelty from users of social networks. The artist himself emphasizes that he himself does not harm living beings, but takes the bodies of dead animals in order to force the audience to think about life and death, as well as the nature of cruelty. Milonov also previously criticized the exhibition, calling it "tyranny, complete idiocy, vulgarity and abomination."
The Ministry of Culture then refused to intervene in what was happening, noting that the Hermitage independently determines the priorities of the exhibition activity. In turn, the General Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, commenting on attacks, explained that the exhibition is designed for people who are "at least a little interested in people who think."
The next round of the scandal associated with Jan Fabr began to unfold after last week the editor -in -chief of Politrussia Ruslan Ostashko on his Twitter said that the performance of Mount Olympus was shown to St. Petersburg youth.
The journalist attached a frank picture with the image of two naked men to the record, one of which was bent down, and the second clung to his ass to his ass. According to Ostashko, in the youth center of the Hermitage there was a whole "educational program" aimed at introducing the young generation to the art of Jan Fabra, including the performance "Mount Olympus".
The message scored dozens of comments on outraged Internet users. However, it turned out that Mount Olympus Yana Fabra was not shown in the Hermitage. According to the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, the head and creator of the Youth Center of the Hermitage Sofia Kudryavtsev, Fabra's extravagant performance was really preparing, but they were going to exclude “provocative and ugly scenes” from it.
“From the team of Jan Fabra, we received permission to show several excerpts of his 24 -hour production“ Mount Olympus ”. It was supposed to become the final stage of the educational program as part of the Yan Fabr exhibition: the knight of despair is a beauty warrior.” But the viewing did not take place in our program, ”Kudryavtseva said.
Instead, the youth center arranged its own performance. Students, having studied the Book of Reviews of the Hermitage, conducted a documentary on the topic: "How a modern person reacts to the Fabra exhibition." The educational program for the exhibition of Yana Fabra ended on April 7 by the performance "Intermedia: circles by water".
“There are a lot of negative and positive responses. On their basis, the scenario of the performance was written. The plot was based on the trial of the Fabr. The actors participated in it. They gave various arguments - accusing and justifying the artist. This helped the participants of the course once again look at Yana's work from different sides,” the head of the center explained.
The premiere of the play by Jan Fabra "Mount Olympus" took place in Berlin in 2015. The performance lasts 24 hours without intermission. Participation in extravagant production is taken by 27 artists who, during the action, jump with metal rides, get dirty in meat and undressing naked. The plot is based on 15 ancient myths telling about incest, detublines and sacrifices.
