Apple will introduce an electronic “butler”

Apple is going to introduce a voice-activated smart speaker connected to the Internet, which will become a new element of the smart home concept.

The new digital speaker, based on Siri technology, will serve as a butler as well as an outlet for listening to music, reports Internet aggregator Phys.org.
Software updates for iPhone and Mac have become a tradition at Apple's annual app developer conference, which begins Monday, June 5, in California. But Apple also sometimes uses the event to introduce new devices and services and upgrade existing products.

More than 35 million people in the United States are expected to use a speaker at least once a month in 2017, double the previous figure.

In 2011, Apple became the first smartphone manufacturer to release the Siri digital assistant.

While Siri will likely be the centerpiece of Apple's smart speaker, experts believe the device's design, color and acoustics will be coordinated because the company has a history of creating elegantly designed products.
