The US authorities arrested an employee of a company that performs contracts for the Pentagon and Intelligence Services of the United States on charges of disclosing secret information regarding the hacker attack attributed to Russia. This is reported by CNN and NBC News . The US Department of Justice confirmed the fact of arrest.

According to sources, the 25-year-old employee of Pluribus International Corporation Reility Lee Winner sent classified documents to the media. According to the interlocutors of CNN and NBC News, these materials were used in one of the articles of The Intercept .

In the secret report of the National Security agency (ANB), the Russian military intelligence allegedly conducted the cyberataka to at least one software developer used in the United States during elections, and also sent about 100 fraudulent electronic letters to the election committee to the aim of stealing personal data.

The US Department of Justice on Monday published a statement that gives the details of the arrest of Winner and the charges against it. At the same time, the documents do not specify exactly which media Winner transmitted secret information.

Winner was arrested by the FBI at home on Saturday, June 3. The day before, she appeared before court. According to the Ministry of Justice, Winner fully pleaded guilty. As established, access to the NSA report transferred by it has recently been provided only by six employees. Later it turned out that it was Winner who sent secret data by e -mail. Now she faces up to 10 years in prison. The suspect is placed under arrest.

The publication of The Intercept says that the ANB report was transferred to the portal on anonymity and underwent an independent authentication check, TASS reports. These materials states that the structures of the Main Directorate (former Main Intelligence Directorate) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces in August 2016 allegedly carried out cyberspiration in relation to a certain American company, "to receive information about the software and equipment used in the electoral system."
