The emergency housing units included in the government program for resettling citizens from dilapidated and outdated housing will not be included in the Moscow renovation program. As TASS reports , this follows from amendments to the relevant bill prepared for the second reading. "The provisions of the law regulating relations arising in connection with the implementation of the housing stock renovation program in the city of Moscow do not apply to relations arising as a result of recognizing an apartment building as emergency and subject to demolition or reconstruction in accordance with the procedure established by the Russian government," the agency quotes.

"We understand that there are not only issues of renovation, but also issues of emergency housing," said Yevgeny Moskvichev, chairman of the Duma's specialized committee on construction and transport, when considering the amendments. "We worked on this issue for a long time and said: "No, there is another law on emergency housing that we must live by." The committee recommended that the chamber adopt this bill in the second reading.
