Theater Sats will present the premiere of the opera Martynov

On June 27, in the space of the picturesque workshop of the Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theater named after Natalia Satz, the premiere of the opera Vladimir Martynov will be held “Guido's Exercises and Dancing” in the production of George Isaacan.

The premiere performances of the play will also be held on June 28 and 29 and will complete the current season of the theater.

“This unique work was created by Vladimir Martynov, one of the leaders of the Soviet still avant -garde, one of the main experimenters with electronic music. He wrote the opera actually about the emergence of music - music in the form that we know it today; The work that no theater has risked to put it for 20 years of its existence, ”says George Isahakyan.

“This is a story about one of the main characters for the world culture, about the great Guido d'Aretzo, who invented the musical camp that we have been using for a thousand years. This opera is equally important both as a work for exquisite professionals, and as an enlightening, educational canvas, because it tells about which today almost no one remembers: that once there were no notes, no music, nor a modern music recording system, and that all the person was invented by one person, a Benedictine monk who lived at the turn of the X-XI centuries, the same Gvido. Each episode of the opera is based on one of the steps of the musical gamut - and there will also be seven paintings in the performance. Seven is generally a very important number for the performance, because the seven steps of the musical camp are seven celestial spheres, seven colors of the light spectrum, seven days of creation, seven wonders of the world ... - the cipher that is behind the perfect harmony, the key to music, which is able to open any human heart. ”

The musical director and conductor of the performance will be the main conductor of the theater Alevtin Iooffe, the artist-winner-Valentina Ostankovich, the artist in the light-Evgeny Gansburg.
