One of the priority topics during the elections of the President of Russia in 2018 will be the problems of youth. The Vedomosti was told about this by four sources close to the presidential administration (AP).

According to them, this topic "will give a reason to talk about the future of the country and fit into the concept of the image of the future."

According to the interlocutors, to implement this idea, VTsIOM and FOM by order of AP will conduct sociological studies related to youth. The general director of the VTsome Valery Fedorov, in a conversation with the publication, confirmed this information, director of Thomas Alexander Oslon did not refute or confirm.

In election campaigns, the theme of youth will be reflected in initiatives related, in particular, with the quality of education, the first hire, employment, credit programs, digital economy and security.

The relevance of the topic was explained by the general director of VTsIOM. According to him, young people are mainly those people who will go to vote for the first time in 2018. “Young people can go to the sites, or they can stay at home. At the same time, it is not clear who they will vote for - that is why various political forces are fighting for her, ”said Fedorov.

At the same time, the expert of the Moscow Center of Carnegie Andrei Kolesnikov added that the youth “has always been an important element of the support of the current president”, but used this category of citizens differently.
