Aleksey Politikov, who was detained on June 10 after a night search in the house of nationalist Vyacheslav Maltsev, is accused of using violence against the police captain of the second operational regiment of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate, A.S. Investigators charged the 44-year-old activist, writes Mediazona, citing Open Russia lawyer Sergei Badamshin. According to the decree signed by the senior investigator for especially important cases of the Investigative Committee Severilov, Politikov used violence against the captain of the police of the second operational regiment of the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate A.S. the policeman to the ground and punched him once in the abdomen. Politicov pleaded not guilty and refused to testify, citing Article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
“From the indicated actions Politikova A.V., Shvetsov A.S. experienced physical pain,” the document says.
During the process, lawyer Igor Elifkhanov petitioned to postpone the trial for 72 hours in order to provide medical certificates. Denied.
Defender Elifkhanov asks the court not to detain the activist and points out errors in the protocol: dates and street names are confused in places. Lawyer Badamshin notes that the court was not presented with characterizing materials, including negative ones. As Badamshin emphasizes, in order to choose a measure of restraint as an arrest, there must be real grounds: “There are no such materials.” The lawyer is sure that the investigator wants to put pressure on the accused in the pre-trial detention center.
On June 9, another person involved in this case, Dmitry Borisov, was arrested by the court until August 8.
