A 19-year-old resident of the Chelyabinsk region received a suspended sentence for inciting hatred “against the peoples of the North Caucasus”

A court in the Chelyabinsk region sentenced a 19-year-old resident of the Nagaibak region to two years probation in a case of extremism, according to the website of the Investigative Committee in the region.

According to investigators, in 2016 he posted on his social networks “materials containing calls to incite hatred and hostility towards the peoples of the North Caucasus and humiliation of national dignity.”

The Investigative Committee's report notes that the crime was discovered by employees of the FSB department in the region.

The young man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity).
