A resident of Severodvinsk was arrested in Arkhangelsk, suspected of robbing a stall, who then went to the temple and put a candle, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to investigators, the young man robbed a trading pavilion, threatening the salesman with a sharp object.
“Police officers found that immediately after the robbery, the attacker headed for the temple, where he allegedly bought church candles and put them to the icon,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
It is argued that the entire personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Arkhangelsk was guided by the search for the suspect. The man was detained the next day, when he waved a gas gun on the street.
A criminal case has been opened under part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery using weapons). The detainee turned out to be previously convicted, the police considered that he "could be involved in the commission of other unlawful acts."
