Interfax: shooting in Kratovo with four dead began due to noise in a car service center

Igor Zenkov, who carried out the shooting in Kratovo near Moscow, was dissatisfied with the noise in a car service station located in a house nearby, a law enforcement source told Interfax.

“Doctors diagnosed Zenkov some time ago with a chronic mental disorder. The man was in a state of remission for a long time, but his condition was negatively affected by external stimuli, and he became aggressive and even violent. So, previously, due to excessive noise emanating from a car service station located in a neighboring house, Zenkov had a conflict with the neighbor who owned the company,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

The source explained that Zenkov came to a car service center, shot a neighbor who owned the business, and then started shooting at passers-by.

Before going to the car service, he wrote a suicide note. The agency's interlocutor said that in it, among other things, Zenkov asked not to blame anyone for what happened.

Interfax was also explained the origin of the weapons that were at Zenkov’s house: the man was a “black digger”, he was looking for weapons from the Second World War.

Zenkov started shooting at a car service center on the evening of June 10. He then barricaded himself at home and spent several hours firing back at security forces who were trying to storm the building. The man then managed to break through the cordon, after which his body was found in the well. According to Kommersant, he could have committed [Roskomnadzor], although the Ministry of Internal Affairs claimed that he was killed by police.
