The court found the former head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Alexander Reimer guilty of fraud

The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow found the former head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Alexander Reimer, guilty in the case of fraud in the purchase of electronic bracelets, reports . RBC

The prosecutor's office requested nine years in prison and a 1 billion ruble fine for Reimer; The verdict will be announced later.

Reimer's former subordinates Nikolai Krivolapov and Viktor Oderenov were also found guilty.

Reimer is being tried under articles of fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of power (part 3 of article 285).

In 2016, Nikolai Martynov, general director of NPF Meta, an accomplice in thefts at the Federal Penitentiary Service, was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison; the case was considered in a special manner, since the businessman fully admitted his guilt.

According to investigators, after the resignation of Alexander Reimer from the post of head of the Federal Penitentiary Service in 2012, major fraud was discovered in the department, in particular with the purchase of electronic bracelets. They were bought at an inflated price from a single enterprise - NPF "Meta" through an intermediary structure - FSUE TsITOS. Reimer was detained in 2015.
