The Meshchansky District Court arrested the director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Alexei Navalny, Roman Rubanov, for 10 days under Art. 19.3 (disobedience to the lawful order of a police officer). Rubanov wrote about this on twitter.
Rubanov was detained yesterday on Sakharov Avenue during an agreed rally. According to the police, when lawyer Violetta Volkova decided to speak from the stage of the rally, Rubanov tried to stop her and turned off the microphone. At the same time, the protocol on administrative violations against Rubanov was corrected right in the corridor of the court.
The court decision was expected for about 9 hours.
According to preliminary data from OVD-Info, 1,720 people were detained throughout Russia on June 12, of which 196 people were detained in the regions (excluding Moscow and St. Petersburg).
In Moscow, 866 detainees are known, who were taken to 42 Moscow police departments. At least 32 people spent the night in 11 police stations.
