
On June 15, a law prohibiting the manufacture and promotion of the St. George tape in Ukraine will enter into force.
The Law “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding the prohibition of the production and propaganda of the St. George (Guards) tape” published today, June, the newspaper Voice of Ukraine - the official body of the Verkhovna Rada.
On May 16, the law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, on June 12 it was signed by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses is supplemented by article 1733 "Production and propaganda of the St. George (Guards) tape."
For a public demonstration of the St. George tape, fines are provided for up to 2550 hryvnias (about 5600 rubles) and up to 5100 hryvnias (about 11,100 rubles) or administrative arrest for up to 15 days for re -violation within a year.
The St. George ribbon or items with its image are subject to confiscation.
According to the law, the propaganda of the St. George tape is public use, demonstration, wearing, as well as the spread of the St. George tape or its image - showing the St. George’s tape during mass events, image on posters, stickers, cards, things, things, use in modern works of art, as well as in the media.
