There is no need to talk about the degradation of Kabanov and Borisov, since both were originally “human rights defenders” in uniform, and the essence of their work was to introduce in the human rights movement for the purpose of its collapse.
A more difficult case with Andrei Babushkim, who was and to a large extent now remains one of the most effective defenders of the rights of prisoners. I believe that today the degradation of the HRC as a whole and its individual members (apparently, the majority?) In particular, has ended. Perhaps one of the presidential human rights activists will do something good and noble in the future. And he will certainly do. Moreover, the HRC contains several pretty and very respected people. But this does not cancel the general conclusion: at the moment, the HRC has finally turned into a completely shameful office, acting hand in hand with Putin’s repressive structures to destroy civil society and human rights. As for the human rights movement in Russia as a whole, it is currently in ruins and it is not yet clear who can bring it out of this state.
