Announced Long list of the Enlightener Prize

Today, June 15, the Organizing Committee of the Enlightener Prize, chaired by Alexander Arkhangelsk and Alexander Gavrilov, announced the Long List of the Enlightener-2017 award for the best popular science book in Russian.
A long list of bonuses is published on her website, it includes 25 books:

The organizing committee prepared a video with a short description of each book from Long List.
The short list will be announced on October 4, the jury of the prize will form it:
- Alexey Semikhatov (Jury Chairman), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Chief Researcher Fian, Member of the Scientific Council of the P.N. Physical Institute Theoretical Physics Lebedeva RAS;
- Evgeny Bunimovich, poet, mathematician, Honored Teacher of Russia, Commissioner for Child Rights in Moscow;
- Dmitry Zimin, founder of the Enlightener Prize (with an advisory vote);
- Sergey Kavtaradze, art critic, architectural historian, laureate of the Enlightener-2016 Award in the nomination “Humanities” for the book “Anatomy of Architecture. Seven books about logic, form and meaning ”;
- Sergey Mironenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Scientific Director of the State Archive of the Russian Federation, Member of the Higher Certification Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;
- Alexander Pankchin, candidate of biological sciences, senior researcher at IPPI RAS, laureate of the Provenitel-2016 award in the nomination “Natural and Accurate Sciences” for the book “The Summer of Biotechnology. Guide to combat myths on the genetic modification of plants, animals and people ”;
- Vladimir Plungyan, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, deputy. Director of the Institute of the Russian Language named after V.V. Vinogradova RAS, head. Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov;
- Ekaterina Pomerantseva, candidate of biological sciences, head of the DNA diagnostics of the Center for Genetics and Reproductive Medicine "Genetico".
The awarding ceremony of the laureates will be held on November 16 in Moscow. Each prize finalist will receive a cash prize of 100 thousand rubles, each winner - 700 thousand rubles. Publishers of the books of laureates are awarded with a cash certificate of 130 thousand rubles to promote books in the market.
In addition, in the framework of the library program of the award annually more than 100 libraries of Russia, all books of their short list and several books of the dynasty library are sent to Russia. This year, this is Tatyana Zarubina’s book “From Dinosaur to Compote. Scientists answer 100 (and another 8) questions about everything ”(M.: Pink Giraffe, 2017).
Dmitry Zimin's prize “Enlightener” for the best popular science book in Russian was established in 2008. The purpose of the award is to attract the attention of readers to the educational genre, encourage authors and create prerequisites for expanding the educational literature market in Russia.
