Alexey Vladimirovich Batalov was born in 1928 in Vladimir, in 1950 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School and became the actor of the Central Theater of the Soviet Army, played in the Moscow Art Theater in 1953-1956, in 1957-1975 he was the actor and director of the Lenfilm film studio.
In 1944, he debuted in the cinema, the actor’s filmography has more than 30 paintings, including “Big Family” (1954), “The Rumyantsev case” (1955), “Cranes are flying” (1957), “My dear man” (1958), “Lady with a dog” (1960), “Nine days of the same year” (1961), “Three fat men” (1966), “Living corpse” ” (1968), “Run” (1970), “Purely English murder” (1974), “Star of captivating happiness” (1975), “Moscow does not believe in tears” (1979).
He also worked on several films as a director and screenwriter, participated in the voice of many paintings, including the cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog" (1975).
Since 1975, he taught acting at VGIK, since 1989 he headed the Department of Acting.
Alexei Batalov was an academician of the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Russia, from 2007 to 2013 - the president of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Nika". The author of the books “Fate and Craft”, “Dialogs in the intermission”, as well as memoirs.
PS Farewell to Alexei Batalov will be held on June 19 as a large hall of the central house of filmmakers, the actor will be buried in the Preobrazhensky cemetery, Interfax reports.
